Arizona Photography, Route 66, Ghost Towns, HDR and more!

About Me

Toni Vaughan

I am passionate about my art. I have always loved making pictures and have carried around a camera most of my life. I progressed seriously into photography about 4 years ago after being inspired by a photographer I met at a bed and breakfast in Prescott, Arizona. My goal as an artist is to share my unique point of view through the lens and digital darkroom.

I am fascinated with old, abandoned things such as cars, trucks and historic buildings and have a long-term goal to shoot the entire Route 66 and all the Ghost Towns in Arizona. I also love the diversity of the landscape in the Southwest, and am on a mission to shoot as much of it as possible.

I use a technique called high dynamic range (HDR) to produce images that have much more detail than the average photo. These images can often have a surreal or illustrated look to them. To get that look, several exposures of the same scene are taken and merged using digital technology. The merged photos are then processed in the digital darkroom either to get that traditional photographic look or an illustrative look.

If you are interested in purchasing a print please visit my online gallery. I am available for assignments or photo shoots by appointment,  email me for more information and pricing.

  1. I was so surprised to see your name come up when I opened my twitter account. Both my daughter and I are photographers but she’s much better than I. We used to drive around North Carolina and take pictures of old houses, farm buidlings, trucks, and the like. So glad to see you have the same interest!

  2. Pat- nice to hear from you, yes, I love shooting old stuff. In fact, I am headed out in about 2 weeks for a road trip along the longest intact segment of Route 66 in AZ. This will be my third time up there but I am planning to spend a few days and get to some of the parts of the road that I missed. I will be blogging about my trip so my readers can experience the trip along with me.

  3. I love your work, and see that you have a calander. I have a business and would like to use it this year with our logo underneath. Do you work with a company that can print these up for us?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,

    • Hi Dorothy- Yes, I could set that up. I have a few options for printing calendars- which calendar are you interested in? I will send you an email later tonight.

    • Dorothy-Thank you for the compliment!

  4. Toni-
I absolutely love your photos with the Grafitti… Anyway you can label specific locations of those on here so I can attempt to get some little photos. I am an amateur but love grafiti art, and it is difficult to find in arizona to take pictures of it.

    • Hi Zach-

Thanks so much! Yes, I can give you specific locations. I have some time this evening to do that. I will send you an email when I have the locations updated.

    • Zach- I updated most of the graffiti images with locations on my portfolio site http://tonivaughan.com some of them are no longer there but I’m sure there is some sort of graffiti art, just not the same. Email me if you have more questions (you can email me with the link above in the “About Me” paragraph. Thanks
